How long have you been with HRC Recruitment?
I joined in January 2021 – so not long!
What made you want to join?
The people and the comms coming out of the business. I’d known a few people from a past life who work here and heard great things. I also followed a lot of the content coming out of the business and it really aligned with what I want to be doing. Thankfully, everything is as expected since joining!
What career path did you follow to get to your current role?
I worked for an Advertising & Comms agency, where a big focus was recruitment advertising. Whilst like a lot of people I “fell” into recruitment, it was a natural move for me, and one I’ve thoroughly enjoyed!
What was your dream job as a child?
I wanted to be a dolphin trainer … but my fish phobia put that on the back burner though!
How have you found working from home?
It’s been different, but with the technology we have in place, it has been a smooth transition. I just miss being in the same room as my colleagues, candidates and clients.
What does a typical day look like?
Normally very busy and very varied. I usually go through my emails the night before so I can start the next day fresh. Each day usually consists of meeting candidates (virtually, for now) and working with clients to find them the best talent. At the moment, as a newbie, I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in training, catching up with colleagues and working on some blog content.
What’s the best part of your job?
Helping people! Being honest, it is a sales role we work in and we do have some targets we work to, but there’s genuinely nothing better than putting that offer call in and helping an excellent candidate and an excellent client get together where there is just that natural fit. Being able to deliver that good news to both sides at either end of a process is great!
Describe the company culture here.
Friendly, collaborative and helpful – as a new start (who joining remotely!), it’s been great to be made so welcome by everyone and very much feel like I’ve been here for years already (in a good way!).
When we’re not in the middle of a pandemic, what do you like to do in your free time?
Golf, golf and more golf! But, when I’m not doing that, I’m in the gym, walking our puppy and spending time with family and friends.
What is most important to you?
Being kind to each other.
Describe yourself in three words.
Kind, sarcastic and organised.
