Meet the Recruiter - Chivonne Gray

Posted August 16 2024 By Chivonne Gray

What made you want to join HRC Recruitment?

I was recommended to join HRC Recruitment as I was a previous candidate (HRC placed me in my previous position!) So, I would say it was fate.

What career path did you follow before getting into recruitment?

I studied politics and law at university and decided to take a year to decide what path I wanted to follow. I was then offered a graduate opportunity, and then fell into recruitment … so, here I am nearly 6 years later.

What was your dream job as a child?

I always remember wanting to be a nurse, the thought of being a support and helping people has always been a dream of mine.

What’s been your biggest success so far?

Personally, gaining my degree. I was the first in my family to go to uni, so it was a big deal for me! Professionally, my development and promotions here at HRC, you are rewarded and recognised for the work you put in everyday.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I am an avid gym-goer and I like to be quite active daily, apart from this I am always out and about trying new food spots in Glasgow, spending time with family and friends or relaxing with a good book.

What is most important to you?

My family and friends, and being happy in myself and my work.

Describe yourself in three words.

Thoughtful, Loyal and hard-working

Now ask the last person you messaged to describe you in three words.

Loyal, motivated and thoughtful/kind.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

I am a big foodie. I have a categorised restaurant list of Glasgow and I am checking them off one by one.

Favourite film? Pulp Fiction or The Gentlemen.

Favourite singer / artist? I wouldn’t say I have a favourite as I like a bit of everything, but if I had to choose it would be Chris Brown.

Favourite book? I have so many options here! A City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert as I love anything set in New York. I also love any books by Mike Gayle – great reads!

Favourite travel destination? The Big Apple.

Apple or android? Apple

TikTok or Instagram? Oh, 50/50. I am constantly in a TikTok hole for travel recommendations and recipes, but I still love Instagram all the same.
