Last month, the Office of National Statistics released new employment activity figures. They made for some grim reading.
They stated:
- Companies hired a record 184,000 staff in December across the UK
- Vacancy numbers stand at an all-time high of 1.25million.
- Unemployment fell to 4.1 per cent in the three months to the end of November. That left unemployment just a fraction above the 4 per cent seen before Covid hit.
More than that, those who are currently in work aren’t going to stay put. Instead, the search for better (or more) flexibility, better benefits and an all round work/life balance remains the order of the day.
