How long have you been with HRC Recruitment?
I have been with HRC for two years, as of February 2021.
What made you want to join?
The people and the culture that I had heard too many good things about. I am delighted to say I wasn’t disappointed!
What career path did you follow to get to your current role?
I had a brief spell in recruitment around ten years ago (showing my age here!) and, from there, I worked in a few sales roles. When I got made redundant from my last role, I applied for a resourcer role with my previous agency and got back into the swing of things. The rest is history!
What was your dream job as a child?
I really wanted to be an Air Hostess.
How have you found working from home?
Honestly, challenging. I am very much a people person and it’s a fundamental part of our job to be candidate and client facing. Thankfully, I have learned to adapt and Zoom and being able to send wee messages on Microsoft Teams really helps!
What does a typical day look like?
Speaking to candidates and clients and getting to know their needs. No two days in recruitment ever seem to be the same.
What’s the best part of your job?
Finding a candidate their perfect role and finding the right candidates for my clients. Relationship building is key and I’m so grateful to represent so many amazing candidates and clients here at HRC.
Describe the company culture here.
Supportive, fun and enjoyable!
What’s been your biggest success so far?
Joining HRC and growing our presence on the Scottish east coast. I’ve been fortunate to build a desk with some wonderful clients (old and new) and really get to know a different market as my sole focus previously was on Glasgow.
When we’re not in the middle of a pandemic, what do you like to do in your free time?
I love to spend time with my family and friends or go on holiday with my partner (my favourite destination so far has been Santorini, which we were lucky enough to visit last year and we got engaged there!).
I’m also on a bit of a health kick at the moment and anyone that follows me on social media will know that I have a new found love of drinking ketones! (My partner has commented if I’m not speaking about work, I’m speaking about ketones!)
What is most important to you?
Relationship building, whether that be on a personal or a professional level. It’s super important to build strong relationships with people and build trust.
Describe yourself in three words.
Loud, messy and passionate.
