What made you want to join HRC Recruitment?
I was at a stage in my career where I was ready for a change. I worked hard to progress and I achieved and learnt a lot, but it was my time. I was lucky enough to meet the lovely Craig after inducting him into my previous company. He got talking to me about HRC and the possibility of them helping me find another role and here I am!
I loved the vibe of HRC, how friendly the team are, the career potential and opportunities and as scary as it is in my late 20s, the opportunity to start a whole new career.
What career path did you follow before getting into recruitment?
I was a Graduate back in 2015, achieving a First Class Honours in Fashion Management from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. I joined the world of Retail Management that same year as a Department Supervisor in Womenswear clothing, and in less than a year later I was a Manager. I progressed through the ranks over the years to Deputy Store Manager and even dipped my toe into the world of recruitment.
I worked hard and gained so many amazing skills and met some incredible people along the way. After working through the pandemic, I was ready for a change. I love working with people, I love coaching and supporting people through their learning and progression so recruitment seemed like a good fit for me
What was your dream job as a child?
In no particular order: Fashion Designer, Ballet Dancer, Dolphin Trainer.
What’s been your biggest success so far?
Achieving my First Class Honours Degree in Fashion Management back in 2015. As someone who didn’t do amazingly well at school, the word shocked comes to mind! I have always loved fashion and to achieve a degree in something I love has to be my biggest success.
When we’re not in the middle of a pandemic, what do you like to do in your free time?
I am such a foodie (greedy), I love going out for dinner and socialising with family and friends. Of course, no dinner is complete without a cocktail or five, and you will find me with a Prosecco or a Pornstar Martini in hand and enjoying a dance.
I also love to travel. I have been so lucky to see so many beautiful parts of the world. My favourite place is America and even in my late 20s, Disneyworld is my happy place.
What is most important to you?
Professionally: Loving what I do, succeeding in it isn’t half bad either.
Personally: My family and friends.
