Assistant Accountant – Renfrewshire - Global Manufacturing Business – Excellent Exposure & Career Development
HRC Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading global manufacturing business to recruit an Assistant Accountant for their team. This role will provide exposure to a varied workload and a chance to work alongside senior finance professionals, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting and operational insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue recognition activities
- Preparation and processing of month-end journals, including payroll, accruals, and prepayments
- Handling inter-company charges and performing reconciliations
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Conducting bank reconciliations
- Supporting the annual external audit process
- Reconciling and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Managing and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
- Monitoring and maintaining departmental budgets
- Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting
- Providing assistance with Accounts Payable and Payroll processes as needed
- Driving continuous improvement through annual business initiatives
- Performing ad hoc tasks to support the Finance Department as required
Key Skills & Experience:
- No formal qualification neccesary.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing or similarly fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large datasets and deliver meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar would be advantageous).
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
