Assistant Accountant – Renfrewshire - Global Manufacturing Business – Excellent Exposure & Career Development

HRC Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading global manufacturing business to recruit an Assistant Accountant for their team. This role will provide exposure to a varied workload and a chance to work alongside senior finance professionals, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting and operational insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue recognition activities
  • Preparation and processing of month-end journals, including payroll, accruals, and prepayments
  • Handling inter-company charges and performing reconciliations
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Conducting bank reconciliations
  • Supporting the annual external audit process
  • Reconciling and submitting quarterly VAT returns
  • Managing and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
  • Monitoring and maintaining departmental budgets
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting
  • Providing assistance with Accounts Payable and Payroll processes as needed
  • Driving continuous improvement through annual business initiatives
  • Performing ad hoc tasks to support the Finance Department as required

Key Skills & Experience:

  • No formal qualification neccesary.
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing or similarly fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large datasets and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar would be advantageous).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
