This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented and driven civil or commercial litigator to join a leading team known for handling high-value, complex personal injury claims. As part of this well-respected practice, you will be responsible for defending clients against a range of personal injury claims, including employer liability, public liability, and motor claims. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong understanding of civil or commercial litigation to transition into personal injury defence or build on existing expertise in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and defend a varied caseload of high-value personal injury claims, including employer liability, public liability, and motor accident cases.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients, including insurers, employers, and commercial entities, on the best approach to defend claims and limit exposure.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and in settlement negotiations, aiming for favourable outcomes while minimising potential financial liability.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, defences, settlement agreements, and reports, ensuring accuracy and clear communication.
  • Collaborate with senior team members on complex and high-profile cases, providing legal input and case management support.
  • Analyse case law, legal precedents, and statutory regulations to build robust defence strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and providing exceptional legal service.
  • Monitor developments in personal injury law and industry trends to ensure the team provides up-to-date, effective legal advice.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years PQE in civil or commercial litigation, with a strong understanding of litigation and defending, and its practical application.
  • Experience in defending personal injury claims, including employer liability, public liability, and motor claims, is highly desirable.
  • A strong background in handling high-value and complex litigation matters, with a solid understanding of dispute resolution and risk management.
  • Excellent advocacy skills, with experience in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Outstanding drafting and legal research skills, with an ability to present clear and concise legal arguments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven track record of managing a busy caseload while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach to legal work, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
