Technical Claims Handler- Glasgow/Hybrid – £28,000

Do you have experience working in a claims-handling environment? Would you like to take the next step in your career and work for a market-leading organisation with a global reach?

A leading insurer is looking to add an Accident and Health Claims Handler to their established Glasgow team. On offer is the chance to work in a progressive and forward-thinking environment, allowing technical skills to be honed over time.

What will the day-to-day look like?

  • Accurately assessing and evaluating complex claims, reserve calculations and settlement values
  • Dealing with incoming call enquiries effectively
  • Providing a professional service to customers
  • Identifying complaints and recognise customer expressions of dissatisfaction
  • Maintaining and developing technical knowledge and expertise
  • Maintaining key client relationships with regard to specific customers and accounts, for issues such as: late notification of claims, case progress, and issuing specific insured requirements within SLAs
  • Escalating relevant client issues to senior team members and management as required

What experience is needed?

  • Claim handling experience, preferably from within a Broker or Insurance Office
  • Customer services experience demonstrating a professional standard in customer care
  • Experience of prioritising and working to SLAs
  • Strong listening & communication skills
  • A process-minded, adaptable and customer-focused attitude
