Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert all EH&S matters, advising senior management and site teams.
- Develop and implement strategic EH&S plans aligned with business goals.
- Maintain relationships with key regulatory bodies (HSE Scotland, SEPA, etc.), ensuring the business stays ahead of regulatory changes.
- Cultivate a culture of safety and sustainability through the creation of policies, risk assessments, and continuous improvement strategies.
- Oversee EH&S performance across the Ayrshire site, ensuring full legal and internal compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the EH&S team, fostering career development and progression.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EH&S practices into all aspects of the business.
- Manage relationships with external organisations, benchmark best practices, and promote a continuous improvement culture.
- Take responsibility for the team’s budget, pushing for high performance and ambitious goals.
- Implement accident investigations, audits, and behavioural safety initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree-qualified with additional qualifications in Health & Safety (NVQ4 or equivalent) and Environmental Management (preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in EH&S, ideally within a manufacturing or chemical processes environment.
- Proven leadership experience with a focus on driving a positive safety culture.
- In-depth knowledge of current and emerging EH&S legislation.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Membership of IOSH/IEMA (preferred).
