HRC Recruitment are proud to be partnering with one of our manufacturing clients, a leading organisation in Ayrshire, to bring you an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced EHS Senior Manager. This is an exceptional chance to develop and lead EH&S strategies while ensuring compliance with both legal and industry regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert all EH&S matters, advising senior management and site teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic EH&S plans aligned with business goals.
  • Maintain relationships with key regulatory bodies (HSE Scotland, SEPA, etc.), ensuring the business stays ahead of regulatory changes.
  • Cultivate a culture of safety and sustainability through the creation of policies, risk assessments, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Oversee EH&S performance across the Ayrshire site, ensuring full legal and internal compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the EH&S team, fostering career development and progression.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EH&S practices into all aspects of the business.
  • Manage relationships with external organisations, benchmark best practices, and promote a continuous improvement culture.
  • Take responsibility for the team’s budget, pushing for high performance and ambitious goals.
  • Implement accident investigations, audits, and behavioural safety initiatives.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree-qualified with additional qualifications in Health & Safety (NVQ4 or equivalent) and Environmental Management (preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in EH&S, ideally within a manufacturing or chemical processes environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on driving a positive safety culture.
  • In-depth knowledge of current and emerging EH&S legislation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Membership of IOSH/IEMA (preferred).
