Factory Manager - Scunthorpe - Food Manufacturing

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Factory Manager to join a leading manufacturing organization with a market leading presence in the FMCG sector. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence and achieving a world-class manufacturing environment and are committed to sustainable manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, promoting a culture of safety and conducting accident investigations when required.
  • Oversee hygiene schedules and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workplace aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Develop and manage an operational skills matrix, identifying skill gaps and coordinating training programs to meet production requirements.
  • Lead a team of production personnel, ensuring performance management, coaching, and development are in line with departmental KPIs.
  • Manage raw material control through SAP systems, investigate discrepancies, and reduce material losses.
  • Support the planning and execution of product launches, upgrades, and production trials.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement, achieve budgetary goals, and identify process enhancements.
  • Communicate performance metrics effectively within the team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Act as the site lead during out-of-hours periods, managing incident responses when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety standards, GMP, and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to develop and manage skills matrices and training plans.
  • Expertise in material control and SAP systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and performance management skills.
  • A proactive and improvement-driven mindset.
