Head of Finance

HRC recruitment are delighted to be partnering with our Glasgow based client in the hire of a new 'Head of Finance'. This position is paying up to £75k + bonus and benefits. 

The Head of Finance will lead daily financial operations, supporting the Managing Director in managing all financial activities. Are you ready to lead and innovate in financial strategy and operations? This opportunity will allow you to drive innovation and make a significant impact. 

Responsibilities include over seeing all aspects for finance and reporting, creating financial forecasts, managing risk and controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting regulations. You will lead the finance team to deliver high-quality support to operating companies and provide data-driven insights to drive strategic improvements. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll help shape strategy and lead transformational change across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to develop pricing strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Analyse customer profitability and revenue trends to inform decision-making.
  • Support commercial decisions with financial insights and monitor key profitability metrics.
  • Oversee new business integration and drive value growth with group and operating companies.
  • Build and lead an effective finance team, focusing on recruitment, retention, and development.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and compliance, planning for succession.
  • Drive continuous improvement in governance and reporting processes.
  • Prepare budgets and quarterly updates, ensuring compliance with group policies.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly performance reports and dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain process controls to mitigate risks and enhance efficiency.
  • Implement approved process improvements and ensure documentation is current.
  • Enhance financial systems in collaboration with Group Finance.
  • Support department heads to achieve optimal financial outcomes.
  • Manage supplier relationships, banking access, and financial audits.
  • Oversee the relationship with the accounting software provider and drive system improvements.

Essential

  • A professional accounting qualification. with significant post-qualification experience in industry.
  • Proven analytical and commercial skills, with a deep understanding of VAT and accounting standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills at the senior management level.
