Health, Safety, and Environment Manager/Glasgow Area/ £ Competitive, based on experience

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating robust management systems focused on minimising risk and ensuring regulatory compliance in Health, Safety, and Environmental matters. This is a business-wide position with a strong emphasis on production activities, encompassing critical aspects such as business continuity risk assessment and management.
Are you who we’re looking for?
- Do you have a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline?
- Can you demonstrate a strong understanding of risk management principles, including awareness of risk assessment methodologies?
- Are you well-versed in environmental risk and management systems?
- Possess sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including COMAH, DSEAR, and the Health & Safety at Work Act?
- Do you have excellent oral and written communication skills?
- Have a minimum of 3-4 years of previous experience in a risk-based work environment?
What does the day-to-day look like?
- Coordinate key elements of the Health & Safety Management System, including risk assessments, procedures, policies, accident reporting, permit to work system, training coordination, and culture development.
- Manage Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) with ownership of existing Safety Report, implementation of Emergency Response Procedures, and liaison with regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate the development of the Environmental Management System, formalize environmental objectives, KPIs, and data collation.
- Highlight compliance requirements of relevant legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, DSEAR regulations, and others.
- Maintain and update business continuity plans.
