Legal Counsel (Litigation) - Ayrshire - Salary up to £45,000 p/a DOE

We are currently seeking an experienced Solicitor with a proven track record in the field of Consumer Arrears and Civil Litigation. As a successful candidate, you will play a crucial role in managing legal cases, resolving disputes, and safeguarding our client's reputation.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a hybrid working model. The salary for this position is up to £45,000 p/a DOE.
Are you who we are looking for?
- You hold a valid solicitor qualification with up to three years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
- You are dual qualified in both Scots and English law (desired)
- You have experience in the finance or consumer debt recovery sector is highly desirable
- You have strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, including Pre-Action Protocols
- You are a confident communicator both written and orally
- You have strong time and diary management, and be able to met set deadlines
- You are able to work well individually and as part of a wider team environment
- You enjoy building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
What is the day to day like?
- Managing defended or complex cases in order to resolve disputes, mitigate costs and protect the business
- Engaging with customers, legal representatives, and third parties throughout the litigation process
- Aiming for suitable outcomes through negotiation and, when necessary, enforcement
- Handling court directions and orders efficiently
- Reviewing non-moving cases within the pipeline and implement strategies to increase revenue and collections
- Seeking advice from Legal Counsel and Compliance to mitigate risks effectively
- Ensuring internal and external processing volumes and deadlines are met, including claims, document requests, defenses, and enforcement activities
