If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Assistant who can handle full end-to-end processing to join our dynamic team.
The day-to-day:
● Process all incoming invoices, ensuring accurate coding and matching against purchase orders and delivery notes.
● Review and reconcile supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner. Prepare payment runs, including supplier BACS payments and petty cash reimbursements.
● Respond promptly to supplier queries and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
● Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any outstanding issues.
● Collaborate with the procurement team to resolve any invoice or purchase order discrepancies.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchase ledger transactions.
● Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals and prepayments.
● Contribute to the continuous improvement of purchase ledger processes and systems.
● Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.
What we are looking for:
● Previous experience in a similar role, with demonstrable experience in full end-to-end purchase ledger processing.
● Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
● Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel for data entry and analysis.
● Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot errors and resolve discrepancies.
● Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
● Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
● Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
● High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
